Question – When was RDPMA created?
Answer – July 23, 2013
Question – Why was RDPMA created?
Answer – to ensure the interest of all retirees were heard and represented fairly during the bankruptcy process and to create a stronger voice at the bankruptcy committee table once we formed. The judge did not realize particularly with Police that each rank is unique depending on the year you retired, the years of service, the contract you retired under, and the benefits you received as it relates to your pension. The RDPMA wanted to preserve our rights that had been negotiated for us during our years of service to the DPD
Question – Who are the Board Members of the RDPMA?
Answer – our names are on the website
Question – Is the RDPMA made up of only Executives?
Answer – No. Currently, all ranks are represented in the RDPMA, and we want more to join!
Question- Will you work with the current Retiree Association (RDPFFA)?
Answer – Absolutely Yes! We wanted to ensure we had more than one voice at the table. The EFM is trying to say retirees aren’t paying attention, and we want him to know that’s not true.
Question – Why didn’t the RDPMA hold an “election” for the offices?
Answer – When any association, organization is first created, the founding members are the first officers of the organization. In time as the association grows, any member will be eligible to run for office.
Question – Will you solicit new and fresh ideas from the RDPMA members to fight for our Pensions and Healthcare?
Answer – Yes! Any ideas and assistance is welcome. We need to work together to save our Pensions and Healthcare, that’s the real issue and let’s stay focused on it.
